It appears that some binary packages available in the download section have been compiled with different flags for GnomeMeeting and for the libraries. The result is a GnomeMeeting with an odd behavior. One of the signs of a broken package is when you get "junk" characters at the end of the error message when failing to open a video device.
Please mail us so that we can know which packages need to be rebuilt.
Thanks a lot, and sorry for the inconvenience...
If you want to be sure to have no problem at all, the only solution is to compile OpenH323, PWLib and Gnomemeeting yourself.
We have spent a lot of time this week trying to find and fix bugs in the next release of GnomeMeeting. GnomeMeeting 0.12 should be ready on sunday. It will be needed to wait a few more days for the translations and the binary packages.
If you want GnomeMeeting 0.12 to be translated in your language, don't forget to mail Christian Rose <menthos at gnu.org>. Thanks for your help!
Today, it is my birthday, but the great news of the day is that GnomeMeeting 0.12 has been features frozen. Translators and packagers will now do their job and GnomeMeeting 0.12 could be released next week.
If you want to translate GnomeMeeting in your language, or to help with the translation, thanks to contact Christian Rose <menthos at gnu.org>
Welcome on the new version of this website. The website has been rewritten in PHP4, that will permit an easier update of the content.
All sections have been updated, including the FAQ.
However, the screenshots page is not up to date, but those screenshots will be updated when GnomeMeeting 0.12 will be released in a few days. That will be a major release.
I would like to thank all the people that support the project.
The old version (now incomplete) of the website can be found here.
GnomeMeeting.org was down the last few days because of a hardware problem. The
website is now back on a new computer!
The old sourceforge mailing list doesn't exist anymore and a new mailing list has been created on gnome.org. You can subscribe to the new mailing list here
Mandrake RPMS were added in the download section. GnomeMeeting 0.11 has been
included in the new Mandrake 8.1. Thanks Florin for your RPMS and your tests on GnomeMeeting.
RedHat RPMS were updated too and the new RPMS are available as usual in the download section. They should work on RedHat 7.1. Thanks Alex for these RPMS !
You can download the binaries at the usual place (Mandrake RPMS coming soon into Cooker). The ChangeLog is too long to be listed here, but you will notice the following improvements :
* a quick access bar has been added to access some functions like
pausing the video or audio transmission among others, * it is now possible to have a video preview mode permitting you to see the camera images without being in a connection, * you will now be able to use a different device and a different mixer to record and play,
